Formule 1 test iedereen in de paddock op het coronavirus

De Formule 1 gaat iedereen in de paddock om de twee dagen testen op het coronavirus zodra het seizoen op gang is gebracht in juli. Dat heeft sportief directeur Ross Brawn aan Sky Sports F1 laten weten. De koningsklasse van de autosport hoopt de jaargang op 5 juli af te trappen in Oostenrijk. Het is de bedoeling om een afgeschermde en controleerbare 'bubbel' te creëren.

Coureurs en teamleden worden afgezonderd van de buitenwereld en mogen alleen in hun hotels of in de paddock vertoeven. Vervoer van en naar het circuit gebeurt telkens in dezelfde auto's en busjes. In de paddock zal de regel van social distancing van kracht zijn; het is niet toegestaan om in de buurt te komen van medewerkers van andere teams. En media zijn helemaal niet welkom.

Op die manier wil de Formule 1 een veilige omgeving tot stand brengen. En blijven testen op aanwezigheid van het virus is het devies, aldus Brawn. "We werken nauw samen met de FIA om een kalender en procedures op te stellen. De internationale autosportbond levert geweldig werk door de structuur neer te zetten die wij nodig denken te hebben. Iedereen wordt getest voordat hij of zij toestemming krijgt om de paddock te betreden."

"Vervolgens testen we die personen elke twee dagen in de paddock. Daarvoor maken we gebruik van een autoriteit op gebied van dit soort tests. Zeker bij alle Europese Grands Prix gebruiken we daar steeds dezelfde faciliteiten voor. We kunnen garanderen dat een ieder die in de paddock rondloopt regelmatig wordt getest op het Covid-19 virus."

Wordt een krampachtige, ongemakkelijk en smetvrees achtige situatie/sfeer. Maar goed alles voor de show en geld. Hopen op normale situaties na de zomer en terug naar het oude normaal inplaats van het ‘nieuwe’ normaal.

  helaas nou eenmaal noodzakelijk, en wij zullen vanachter de tv weinig meekrijgen van het ongemakkelijke gedoe op de paddock, zolang het veld straks maar weer van start gaat en er geracet gaat worden..

Ik kan me zo voorstellen dat veel medewerkers niet blij zullen zijn met deze vorm van werken nu ze buiten het harde werken vrijwel geen enkele vorm van ontspanning meer zullen hebben.
Het zijn vrijwel allemaal hoogopgeleide techneuten die vrij makkelijk een andere baan kunnen vinden en ik kan me zo voorstellen dat er wat mensen de F1 de rug toe gaan keren.

  Ik denk dat ze dolblij zijn dat ze eindelijk weer kunnen werken aan hun passie en dat er minder kans is dat de boel failliet gaat.

Terwijl er zoveel patienten een test nodig hebben en er geen zijn voor iedereen. F1 is nu absoluut van onderbelang..

  Want in Oostenrijk liggen de doden opgestapeld naast het circuit terwijl de IC’s uitpuilen en dokteren op zijn Russisch uit het raam vallen??

  @ Benelux, ze gebruiken daar een andere test voor. Sinds eergisteren maken ze gebruik van een test die in drie uur de uitslag geeft. Dat ie een andere test die ze in de andere landen gebruiken.

  Mijn pa met COPD is al drie weken aan 't wachten op zijn test.. Nog niet beschikbaar voor hem, terwijl hij alleen in z'n huis zit te vereenzamen, zonder internet, zonder contact met iemand (behalve telefonisch dan) ... Ja, ik doe wel dramatisch!!!!!

  dat is heel erg, hoop dat hij snel beter wordt..
  Weet uit mijn directe omgeving dat je strontziek kunt zijn van dat virus!
  helaas moeten we het allen 'ondergaan' vroeg of laat.
  Op f1 terugkomend, een race in een afgesloten, beschermde en gecontroleerde omgeving is niet alleen fijn (zeker in tijden waarin je veelal aan huis gebonden bent en vertier nagenoeg nul is) het is een must en van levensbelang voor f1

  @Benelux, dat vind ik te gek voor woorden!
  Zijn huisarts moet erop staan dat hij onmiddellijk getest wordt,
  want er zijn heus wel testen beschikbaar voor zulke ernstige situaties,
  vooral als je COPD hebt!

  Er zijn meer dan voldoende tests beschikbaar......helaas is dit gewoon " beleid" van die klojo's van het RIVM met hun domme groepsimmuniteit.

  Mee eens, heb COPD en had 2 weken geleden de GGD over de vloer omdat ik alle symtomen had en amper kon ademhalen. ze deden wat testen maar geen corona test. Ze gaven een antibioticakuur en dat was het.
