Sotsji wil publiek verwelkomen bij Grand Prix van Rusland

De organisatie van de Russische Grand Prix hoopt dat het evenement op de Sochi Autodrom in Sotsji zich kan ontpoppen tot eerste Formule 1-race waar na de coronacrisis weer publiek welkom is. Dat verklaarde Alexey Titov van promotor Rosgonski. De Grand Prix van Rusland stond op de oorspronkelijke kalender voor 2020 gepland voor 27 september.

Titov heeft nog geen signalen ontvangen dat hij op zoek moet naar een andere datum. "Onze datum is ongewijzigd. Alle versies van herziene kalenders die circuleren, zijn slechts gebaseerd op aannames en gespeculeer. De Formule 1 weet op dit moment maar één ding en dat is dat ze het seizoen willen beginnen met races in Oostenrijk op 5 en 12 juli. Alles wat daarna moet komen is nog een groot vraagteken."

Dus gaat hij nog steeds uit van een race op 27 september. Zou het over vier maanden alweer mogelijk zijn om toeschouwers te ontvangen? Titov denkt van wel. "Ik geloof dat onze Grand Prix goede kans maakt om uit te groeien tot de eerste race waarbij publiek weer welkom is. Al begrijpen we dat de situatie met deze pandemie het lastig maakt om te voorspellen wanneer wat weer kan en dat het voorbarig is om een inschatting te maken voor eind september."

Ze zijn er gek genoeg voor en je gaat daar toch niet dood aan Corona maar aan allerlei andere onderliggende aandoeningen dus wil je een kaartje voor de hemel direct boeken.

Mooi, zit dan direct de beste race worden met het beste publiek volgens ene Lewis Hamilton.
Maar serieus ik vrees dat Europeanen geen uitreis visum krijgen of onder een zeer strikt terugkeer regime vallen. Dan laat je het wel.

Van mij mogen ze beginnen met de GP's, ziet er goed uit, zomer in zicht, dus komende 4 maanden mag er gefeest worden, open de sluizen maar.

Dit mag dan een F1 site zijn, maar de achtbaanliefhebber in mij heeft bij de foto boven dit artikel alleen oog voor dat prachtige staaltje Nederlandse top engineering; de Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang. :)
Voor mij in ieder geval een stuk interessanter dan de gemiddelde F1 race op het Sochi Autodrom.

  Als ik naar de foto kijk dan is daar de 1,5 meter afstandsregel al ingevoerd voordat de Corona virus kwam.
