Luca di Montezemolo ontkent interesse in rol als FIA-president

Luca di Montezemolo spreekt tegen dat hij plannen smeedt om een gooi te doen naar de positie van voorzitter van de internationale autosportbond FIA. De huidige FIA-president, Jean Todt, is bezig aan zijn laatste termijn en zal eind 2021 zijn post verlaten.

Er gingen geruchten dat Di Montezemolo, gesteund door Bernie Ecclestone, de rol van FIA-voorzitter zou ambiëren. Niets van waar, stelt de Italiaan tegenover Formula Passion. "Ik heb de verhalen ook gelezen. Het voorzitterschap van de FIA komt echter niet voor op mijn lijst met intenties en mogelijkheden."

Andere namen die de revue passeerden als mogelijke opvolgers van Todt zijn David Richards, Formule E-baas Alejandro Agag en Mohammed bin Sulayem.
