SAFER- en Tecpro-barriers geïnstalleerd op Circuit Zandvoort

Het circuit van Zandvoort werkt in alle rust verder aan de finetuning van de verbouwde baan. Eigenlijk had de Formule 1 begin deze maand langs moeten komen voor de Grand Prix van Nederland, maar door de uitbraak van het coronavirus is dat op de lange baan geschoven. Dat biedt Circuit Zandvoort de gelegenheid om tijd te nemen om de puntjes op de i te zetten.

Zo zijn inmiddels ook de SAFER- en Tecpro-barriers geïnstalleerd, bijvoorbeeld aan de buitenkant van de Arie Luijendijk-bocht. SAFER staat voor Steel And Foam Energy Reduction. Net als de Tecpro-barrier is deze erop gericht om de kracht van een impact te absorberen en reduceren, wat de veiligheid van de coureurs ten goede komt.

    Die SAFER barriere werkt erg goed. In de Indycar heeft dit al een aantal verloren levens weten te voorkomen., onder anderen Sebastien Bourdais is er door die barriere erg goed af gekomen.

    Ziet er voorlopig goed uit.
    Al vind ik persoonlijk wel dat ze op het rechte stuk wat meet Tribunes mogen bouwen.
    Dat ziet er maar armoedig uit.

      Die zijn er bij de Grands Prix ook, maar dat zijn dan wel tijdelijke tribunes.

      Dat viel mij dus ook het meest op.
      Heel de baan is aangepakt, de paddock ook (enkele meters langer geworden), maar de hoofdtribune ziet er nu echt wel gewoon armzalig uit.
      Die moet niet alleen flink groter worden, maar ook serieus vernieuwd.

      Nu is het prima dat de hoofdtribune voor de F1 vergroot wordt met tijdelijke tribunes, maar de tribune zelf heeft toch echt iets meer dan een likje verf nodig om er weer mooi uit te laten zien. Die zongebleekte en gezandstraalde stoeltjes die er nu staan zien er niet uit.
