Canada zet in op Grand Prix in de herfst van 2020

De organisatie van de Grand Prix van Canada geeft niet op. Het wil graag meedenken om alsnog de Grand Prix op een andere datum later dit jaar te rijden. Normaliter stond de Canadese Grand Prix dit weekend op het programma, maar vanwege het coronavirus is deze afgelast.

Andere locaties zijn al geschrapt, en daar kwamen vanochtend officieel Japan, Singapore en Azerbeidzjan bij. De promotor van de populaire Grand Prix in Canada, Francois Dumontier, wacht af op wat er gaat gebeuren.

Hij zegt tegenover Journal de Montreal: "We voeren op dit moment gesprekken met diverse aandeelhouders van ons evenement. Iedereen die aan tafel zit, of het nu de FOM is, het stadsbestuur van Montreal, het bureau voor toerisme in Montreal en andere autoriteiten, iedereen wil in de herfst van 2020 hier racen."

De autoriteiten van de stad Montreal wilden echter niet reageren op de berichtgeving.
