Crashes en motorwissels zullen aanzienlijk langer duren tijdens Grands Prix in 2020, waarschuwt technisch manager Andy Green van Racing Point.

Hij zei dat strikte sociale afstandsmaatregelen in de pitboxen bij de komende races betekenen dat het werken aan de auto's 'automatisch langer duurt'.

"We hebben een beperkt aantal mensen die samen aan de auto mogen werken, dus we moeten andere manieren vinden om onze oude efficiëntie terug te krijgen", vertelde Green aan Auto Motor und Sport.

'Ik vermoed dat het ongeveer twee keer zo lang duurt om een motor in de garage te vervangen", zei hij en merkte op dat een motorwissel 2-3 uur in beslag nam.

Ervoor zorgen dat de auto's robuust en betrouwbaar zijn, zal daarom in 2020 cruciaal zijn: "Onze coureurs moeten zich ervan bewust zijn dat een crash meer tijd in de garage betekent dan voorheen."

Het zijn meestal Szafnauer en Green die overal een big deal van maken. Maar ik verwacht weinig veranderingen.

Ik zie de spelers in de Bundesliga en La Liga al doelpunten vieren alsof er nooit een pandemie geweest is.
