Eerste uitslag coronatests uit Oostenrijk bekend

De Formule 1 heeft bevestigd dat er geen positieve coronatests werden geconstateerd van de eerste 4.000 monsters die werden genomen voorafgaand aan de Oostenrijkse Grand Prix. Nu het F1-seizoen dit weekend van start gaat, zijn er 'bubbels' gecreëerd in de paddock, waarbij teams zich aan groepen houden, waardoor interactie met ander teampersoneel wordt vermeden.

Iedereen die de komende weken in het F1-circus reist, wordt elke vijf dagen getest, terwijl de temperatuur- en symptoomcontroles regelmatig zijn.

Tussen 26 juni en 2 juli werden er 4.032 tests uitgevoerd, waarbij nul positieve resultaat waren geconstateerd. F1 zei in een verklaring: "De FIA en Formule 1 verstrekken deze verzamelde informatie met het oog op de integriteit en transparantie van de sport."

"Er worden geen specifieke details over teams of individuen verstrekt door de FIA of Formule 1 en de resultaten worden elke zeven dagen openbaar gemaakt."

Eerder dit jaar tijdens de Grand Prix van Australië, die oorspronkelijk de eerste race van het seizoen zou zijn, testte een teamlid van McLaren positief, wat resulteerde in het annuleren van de race. De F1 is ervan overtuigd dat een positief geval van corona in de paddock niet zal leiden tot de annulering van een raceweekend.

Hopenlijk blijft iedereen gezond, en krijgen we daardoor toch nog een mooi seizoen met zelfs nog wat extra races op de kalender.
