Ferrari verliest sponsor Weichai door coronacrisis

Ferrari begint moeizaam aan het nieuwe Formule 1-seizoen. De auto lijkt teleurstellend en laat zwakke prestaties zien. Er zijn ook technische zorgen over de auto.

Alsof dit nog niet genoeg was, lijkt Ferrari ook een grote sponsor te verliezen. Het Chinese bedrijf Weichai was nog steeds prominent aanwezig op de auto's tijdens de wintertesten in Barcelona, maar eenmaal aangekomen in Spielberg zijn de logo's van de oude sponsor nergens te bekennen. Begin dit jaar was het logo nog groot te zien vlak voor de coureur bij de bevestiging van de Halo.

Het gebeurt niet vaak dat een sponsor gedurende een seizoen stopt. Volgens berichten in de Italiaanse media is de coronacrisis de reden achter het vertrek van de sponsor.

Williams verliest RokiT

Ferrari is natuurlijk niet het enige team dat een grote sponsor heeft verloren. Vorige maand werd aangekondigd dat RokiT en Williams uit elkaar zouden gaan. Voor het Britse team betekende dit dat ze ook de kleurstelling volledig moesten aanpassen. Naar verluidt staat RokiT echter op het punt om een contract aan te gaan met Mercedes.
