Grand Prix van Rusland op 27 september met fans op tribunes

Het was de bedoeling dat Chase Carey inmiddels nieuwe races bekend had gemaakt voor het vervolg van de F1-kalender. De Amerikaan heeft echter meer tijd nodig om dit te doen, maar tijdens de tweede Grand Prix in Oostenrijk zal de bekendmaking dan toch komen.

De komende dagen zal Carey naar verwachting meer aankondigen over de F1-kalender van 2020. De Formule 1-kalender bestaat vooralsnog uit acht races en eindigt op 6 september met de Italiaanse Grand Prix. Zoals al verwacht, zal de Formule 1 aan het einde van deze kalender nog enkele races plannen.

Mugello, Rusland en Portugal

Allereerst zal de F1 ook direct na de Italiaanse Grand Prix racen in Mugello. Het Italiaanse circuit debuteert dan in de Formule 1 en zal op de kalender verschijnen onder de naam Grand Prix van Toscane. Twee weken na deze race gaat het circus naar Rusland, waar al kaartjes worden verkocht en mogelijk voor het eerst met fans wordt gereden.

Na Rusland op 27 september volgt Portimao op 4 oktober, zodat er in 2020 nog drie maanden beschikbaar zijn. Het is al zeker dat Bahrein en Abu Dhabi in november of december de finale van de Formule 1-kalender zullen zijn. Tussendoor kan er nog van alles gebeuren. De Grand Prix van China staat volgens Helmut Marko al vast en Vietnam claimt nog steeds een plaats op de kalender.

Geen races in Amerika

Races die intussen steeds onwaarschijnlijker worden, zijn die in Noord- en Zuid-Amerika. De MotoGP-race in Amerika is al geannuleerd op hetzelfde Circuit of the Americas en dat wordt ook verwacht voor F1. De problemen rond het coronavirus zijn te groot en dat geldt ook voor Brazilië en Mexico. Er is dus weinig kans dat we die races in 2020 zullen zien.

Nou ben ik misschien niet de meest fanatieke met 1,5 meter houden en andere maatregels, maar een plekje op de tribune daar in Rusland laat ik ff schieten als ik er al heen zou mogen.

Logistiek gezien een beetje onhandig om van Italië, naar Rusland en dan weer naar Portugal te reizen. Zal wel komen omdat Rusland eerder voor 27 september gepland stond.

BLM, Mercedes en Hamilton..het begint weer lekker. Een nationale Lewis complex lijkt het langzamerhand wel.

Ontopic: interessant. Laten we hopen dat dit goed gaat. Rusland rapporteert gegevens over de coronavirus toestand daar, wat de rest van de wereld niet gelooft. Ben benieuwd.
