Lotus Renault GP denkt aan twee tienden tijdwinst voor Spanje

Het team van Lotus Renault GP doet volop mee aan de ontwikkelingswedloop die is geïntensiveerd sinds het circus in Europa is aanbeland. De Britse renstal introduceert een paar kleine updates voor de R31 met het oog op de Spaanse Grand Prix en rekent op een kleine twee tienden tijdwinst.

Technisch directeur James Allison: We brengen een handvol aerodynamische updates, de ontwikkelingsrace stopt nooit. Individueel gezien zijn het geen grote vernieuwingen, maar het zijn er zes in totaal en samen zijn ze 0,15 tot 0,2 seconde per rondje waard. Het is geen grote upgrade, maar als we dit tempo voor elke Grand Prix aan houden, dan gaat het tellen.

In Turkije eindigden beide wagens in de punten, vlak bij elkaar. Dat gaf wel enige voldoening. Iedereen van Lotus Renault GP had onze auto's echter liever verder naar voren gezien, maar dit was een juiste afspiegeling van de krachtsverhoudingen op dat moment.
