Apple kaarten test 3D map bij Silverstone als eerste

Het Britse circuit Silverstone heeft een upgrade gekregen. Apple heeft namelijk het circuit voorzien van een 3D-layout in haar app kaarten. Hiermee kan men het circuit bekijken met alle gebouwen en details.

Het 3D effect is niet hetzelfde als streetview, (van Google Maps red.) dat zijn namelijk foto's die achter elkaar zijn gezet en zo een beeld geven. Dit is echt een 3D getekende map en zo kan je tijdens het lopen op het circuit beter dingen herkennen voor de route. Apple hoopte dat de twee race weekenden met bezoekers kon worden gehouden op het circuit van Silverstone, zo kon de dienst de map laten testen. Met de map heb je nog een voordeel op het circuit, Apple brengt alles in kaart om haar concurrent Google voor te blijven. Het kan dus goed zijn dat bij de volgende Grand Prix op het circuit van Silverstone op de kaart nog meer informatie te vinden is. Zo test het bedrijf nu met een drukte meter. Hiermee kan gezien worden waar het druk is, dit doen ze met GPS-signalen.
