Motorhomes terug in F1-paddock van Spa-Francorchamps

De grote motorhomes van de F1-teams keren deze week terug naar de paddock op Spa-Francorchamps. Tot nu toe hebben teams in het coronavirus-ontsierde seizoen 2020 de kosten verlaagd door te opereren vanuit geïmproviseerde gebouwen en met uitbestede catering.

Tijdens het zevende raceweekend  van de 17 die nu in totaal op het programma staan, zijn de eigen en vertrouwde hospitality-units van de Formule 1-teams weer te vinden in de paddock van Spa-Francorchamps.

Hoge kosten

Auto Motor und Sport-correspondent Tobias Gruner: "De reden voor de wijziging is simpel. De teams merkten dat de kosten voor het huren van de containers en het inhuren van externe catering zelfs hoger waren."

Omdat de bewegingsvrijheid en ruimte in de paddock nog steeds zo beperkt is, zullen sommige teams zoals Mercedes, de kleinere motorhomes gebruiken die doorgaans bij de wintertests te zien zijn.

      bij alle teams zijn ze vd dixies overgestapt op een vaste toilet, moet ook wel met grapjurken als norris en ricciardo erbij die constant dat ding omver mieteren als het bezet is

    Er zijn miv Spa nog een aantal zaken veranderd.

    2020 Sporting regulations changes approved:
    ... +10 personnel (hospitality) Dus nu 90 mensen per team mee naar een circuit.

    ... Option for FIA and Pirelli to modify the number of sets of each compound per race.

    ... Not permitted to test in the 2020 calendar circuits.

      Volgens mij was 60 het maximum per team, inclusief fotografen van het team. Dus dan zal 70 nu de max zijn

      @BlackBook, er mogen niet meer dan 60 mensen aanwezig zijn die
      " may be associated in any way with the operations of the car"
      en daarnaast nog 20 mensen voor compleet andere andere zaken
      zoals beveiliging, marketing, PR mensen, hospitality mensen, etc.
