McLaren durft Ferrari nog niet af te schrijven

Wat er ook gebeurt: schrijf nooit (een) Ferrari af. Bij McLaren blijven ze graag realistisch en dus zegt teambaas Andreas Seidl dat hij en zijn team de rode bolides nog scherp in de gaten blijven houden.

Mclaren wil Ferrari nog niet wegstrepen als concurrent nadat de Italianen een "schandelijke wanprestatie" leverden in Spa-Francorchamps. Tijdens de Grand Prix van België reed het illustere team kansloos mee in de achterhoede van het F1-veld.

Naast een slechte motor zou het team ook beschikken over een zeepkist van een wagen.

McLaren-teambaas Andreas Seidl zegt dat het vermogen van de Scuderia "om terug te slaan" niet onderschat mag worden. Toch lijkt het juist aan vermogen te ontbreken bij de Italianen. Motorvermogen, welteverstaan.

McLaren klom mede door het falen van Ferrari naar de derde plaats in het constructeurskampioenschap. Lando Norris wist de race op de zevende plaats te finishen, terwijl Carlos Sainz met een probleem aan een uitlaat niet van start kon in Spa.

Ferrari in de achterhoede

Ferrari scoorde nul punten, en staat nu op de vijfde plaats. Als in Monza een herhaling komt van de afgang zoals die in België ten toon werd gespreid, dan zakt het rode Italiaanse team naar het onderste deel van de WK-stand voor constructeurs.

De crisis waarin het team zich bevindt zou vooral ontstaan zijn na een geheim deal met de FIA, zo vertelde Christian Horner afgelopen week.

Omdat de Italiaanse Grand Prix dit weekend moeilijk gaat zijn voor met Ferrari-motor aangedreven teams, heeft McLaren grote kans om de voorsprong op het Italiaanse merk uit te bouwen.

Schuin oog naar Ferrari

Seidl verwacht een stevig gevecht met Racing Point en Renault, maar houdt er ook rekening mee dat Ferrari zich toch weet terug te vechten.

"We mogen niet onderschatten hoe groot het vermogen van Ferrari is om terug te slaan in de loop van het seizoen. Zij hebben de ervaring, de mankracht en de infrastructuur daarvoor. Ik weet zeker dat het slechts een kwestie van tijd is voordat ze ook weer zullen terugslaan."

Zakt Ferrari naar onderste deel van het lijstje?

McLaren staat momenteel zeven punten voor op Ferrari. Renault komt twee punten op de Italianen tekort, maar zij maken komend weekend in Monza wederom grote kans om Ferrari in te halen in het kampioenschap.

De Renault gaat erg hard op het rechte stuk, zo bleek al in Spa-Francorchamps. Laat daar nou net behoefte aan zijn in Monza. Het Franse team gaf al aan veel te verwachten van de Grand Prix die dit weekend wordt verreden op de 'Temple of Speed'.

Ff offtopic. McLaren heeft dit weekend een eerbetoon aan Ray Rowe op de auto. Ray is in 1965 door Bruce aangenomen en gaat nu met pensioen. 55 jaar!. Holy sh*t.

Afgaande op Spa, is de kans best aanwezig dat Ferrari opnieuw een moeilijk weekend tegemoet gaat. Renault zal.opnieuw snel zijn, maar ook Mclaren was snel op Spa.

Verwacht dat na Monza Ferrari toch weer aan gaat haken, waar ik een terugval voor Renault zie. De Mclaren is veel meer all round en constanter dan Ferrari en Renault.
Hoe dan ook, Mclaren, Ferrari, Renault en RP gaan de plaatsen 3 t/m 6 opeisen.

Waarbij ik natuurlijk hoop op de door mij geschetste volgorde ;)

Klopt, Alleen de motor doe je niks aan. en daar zit het grootste probleem. Die wagen zal nog wel beter worden maar ik denk dat het niet genoeg is. Ik gok op Renault voor plek 3 aan het einde.

  Renault moet dit weekend goed scoren met beide auto's om nog kans op de 3e plek te houden. Zodra er DF nodig is zakken zij weer terug.

  Ferrari kan misschien profiteren van het afschaffen van de partymodus. Als ze een paar plekken naar voren kunnen kwalificeren kan dat in de race ook behoorlijk schelen. Verder staan ze momenteel nog voor Renault, die lijken nu het momentum te hebben, maar dat kan op andere circuits zo maar weer weg zijn. Voor P3 wordt het idd gokken, ik zou het niet durven zeggen.
