Lando Norris heeft geen medelijden met Ferrari en Charles Leclerc

Lando Norris kent dit jaar een zeer goede reeks van races. Het is zijn tweede seizoen in de Formule 1 doordat McLaren hem vorig jaar liet debuteren. De jonge Brit die goed bevriend is met Max Verstappen heeft het naar zijn zin in de koningsklasse en met zijn opvallende vrolijke karakter een welkome verschijning voor de fans.

Komend jaar krijgt hij Daniel Ricciardo als teamgenoot doordat zijn huidige teamgenoot Carlos Sainz zal vertrekken naar Ferrari. Het Italiaanse team heeft het weer lastig op dit moment en zit midden in een crisis door de slechte resultaten en alle problemen die het heeft met de wagen van dit jaar.

Geen medelijden van Norris

Ondanks dat Ferrari altijd op veel sympathie kan rekenen, heeft Lando Norris geen medelijden met Ferrari en haar coureurs Sebastian Vettel en Charles Leclerc. Leclerc is dit jaar samen met teamgenoot Sebastian Vettel aan het zwoegen op de circuits om vooruit te komen.

Op papier rijdt Charles voor een topteam, maar de resultaten van dit jaar vertellen een ander verhaal. Norris heeft geen medelijden met Leclerc, vertelde hij aan Sky Sports. De 20-jarige Brit: "Waarom zou ik medelijden moeten hebben? Vorig jaar behaalde Charles overwinningen en podiumplaatsen. Dat hebben niet veel mensen ooit bereikt."

Norris komt ook met argumenten waarom hij geen medelijden heeft: "Gewoon omdat ze een slechter jaar hebben vanwege een aantal omstandigheden die een rol hebben gespeeld. Daardoor hebben ze niet een goede wagen dit jaar. Ze behalen niet de resultaten die iedereen van ze verwacht."

Eens, maar ik vind het te triest om aan te zien. Die coureurs kan je het valsspel van vorig jaar niet kwalijk nemen. Grote kans dat ze er helemaal niks van wisten, want waarom zou je als team een bepaald geheim openbaren aan anderen?
Sneu dus voor Leclerc, talentvolle coureur die nu achteraan rijdt. Maar niet sneuer dan voor bijvoorbeeld Russel, die zeker zo talentvol is en het al jaren met een Williams moet doen.
