Imola krijgt toestemming voor meer dan 13.000 toeschouwers

Het circuit van Imola heeft groen licht gekregen om toeschouwers te verwelkomen bij de race van 1 november. Nu de 'spookrace' trend van de sport begint af te nemen, blijkt dat de 30.000 tickets die te koop zijn voor de Russische Grand Prix van zondag in Sochi volledig zijn uitverkocht.

De organisatie van Rusland zegt hierover: "De voorwaarden voor de race van dit jaar werden gevormd in overeenstemming met alle vereisten en aanbevelingen."

Dagelijks werden 3.000 toeschouwers verwelkomd in Mugello, en de verwachting is dat ook toeschouwers de circuits op de Nurburgring, Portimao en Istanbul zullen betreden.

Volgens regionaal president Stefano Bonaccini heeft Imola groen licht gekregen om elke dag 13.147 toeschouwers een plek te geven op de tribunes.

"Imola kan zich verheugen over de mogelijkheid om terug te keren naar een relatief normale situatie, want er is meer dan genoeg ruimte op de baan om volledig aan de veiligheidsregels te voldoen. Dit is een geweldige kans om de wereld te laten zien dat we met de juiste en doordachte aanpak het hoofd kunnen bieden aan ernstige crises", zei Imola-baas Uberto Selvatico Estense.
