Gescheurde uitlaat veroorzaakte brand aan bolide Heidfeld

De fikse brand aan de auto van Nick Heidfeld in de derde vrije training is veroorzaakt door een gescheurde uitlaat. Dat vertelde Eric Boullier, teambaas van Lotus Renault GP. Heidfeld moest zijn auto vanochtend al na zes ronden langs de kant zetten toen deze vlam vatte.

Boullier vertelde dat de brand was veroorzaakt door een gescheurde uitlaat. BBC-analist Eddie Jordan geloofde echter niet helemaal de uitleg van de teambaas. "Dit kan alleen komen door vloeistof gerelateerde dingen, zoals aan olielekkage. Boullier vertelt hier denk ik niet de waarheid. Het klopt niet."

Het is nog niet duidelijk of Heidfeld deel kan nemen aan de kwalificatie.
