Ecclestone hoort Adrian Sutil en kroonprins van Bahrein uit

Bernie Ecclestone heeft afgelopen weekend in Spanje de tijd genomen om belangrijke gesprekken te voeren. Bild bericht dat de commerciële baas van de Formule 1 Force India-coureur Adrian Sutil bij zich riep om de waarheid rond het incident met Eric Lux in een nachtclub in China te weten te komen.

Lux raakte gewond aan zijn hals door toedoen van Sutil, die de tweede man van Genii Capital met een gebroken glas naar de nek vloog in Sjanghai. Lux sprak de intentie uit om een aanklacht in te dienen wegens mishandeling. In Spanje vroeg Ecclestone Sutil om tekst en uitleg. De twee gingen handen schuddend uit elkaar.

Ecclestone sprak verder met de kroonprins van Bahrein over de stand van zaken in het oliestaatje. De kans bestaat dat Bahrein alsnog een Grand Prix toegewezen krijgt, mogelijk op 30 oktober, maar dan moet de veiligheid wel gegarandeerd worden. De Telegraph stelt dat Ecclestone een kort onderhoud met kroonprins Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had.
