De Grand Prix van Emilia-Romagna op Imola was het weekend dat het F1-team van Mercedes een historische prestatie heeft neergezet. Door voor de zevende keer op rij het constructeurskampioenschap te veroveren, werd daarmee het record van Ferrari uit de boeken gereden. De Italiaanse renstal behaalde in het verleden zes titels in successie. De race van Max Verstappen leek veelbelovend uit te pakken. De Red Bull-coureur verschalkte Valtteri Bottas na zijn eerste pitstop en leek op weg te gaan naar een prachtige tweede plaats. Totdat de Nederland een klapband te verduren kreeg. Dat werd waarschijnlijk veroorzaakt door brokstukken op de baan. De Grand Prix werd uiteindelijk gewonnen door Lewis Hamilton met daarachter Valtteri Bottas. Daniel Ricciardo behaalde met zijn Renault verrassend de derde plek en zijn tweede podium van het seizoen.

In de F1-Podcast bespreekt host Lucas Degen samen met o.a Charrel Jalving, Jeroen Demmendaal en Jeroen Scholte de zaken van het afgelopen weekend.
