Brundle: "Natuurlijk rijdt Hamilton volgend seizoen gewoon mee"

Vorige week, tijdens de Grand Prix van Emilia Romagna, heeft Hamilton aangegeven dat hij niet zeker weet of hij volgend seizoen nog mee rijdt. Tot nu toe is dan ook alleen Valtteri Bottas bevestigd voor komend seizoen. Volgens Hamilton voelt het momenteel niet goed om in tijden van onzekerheid te gaan onderhandelen over een potentieel miljoencontract voor volgend seizoen. Echter, lang niet iedereen gelooft dat Hamilton oprecht is in zijn plagerige opmerkingen dat hij niet weet of hij volgend jaar rijdt.

Één van de personen die Hamilton totaal niet gelooft is Sky Sports F1 analist en ex F1-coureur Martin Brundle. Hij denkt dat de Brit volgend jaar gewoon weer als leider van het team van Mercedes naast Valtteri Bottas rijdt. "Lewis blijft ons plagen en kwellen met opmerkingen dat hij niet zeker weet of hij volgend jaar nog wel in de paddock te vinden is", aldus Brundle. "Echter, hij is er volgend jaar uiteraard gewoon bij".

Volgend weekend, tijdens de Grand Prix van Turkije, heeft Hamilton al zijn eerste mogelijkheid om het kampioenschap te claimen. Dit zou hij dan doen met nog drie ronden te gaan, en plaats hem gelijk met Michael Schumacher. Om ervoor te zorgen dat dit gebeurt, hoeft Hamilton alleen maar voor Bottas te finishen, ongeacht de positie(s). Bottas kan ervoor zorgen dat het titel-gevecht wordt overgeheveld naar Bahrein als hij acht punten meer dan Hamilton weet te scoren.

  Als Brundle cq skysport bijna wekelijks een item hebben over Mercedes en/of Hamilton , en het zelfs voorelkaar krijgen om in een vrij recente Mercedes F1 te mogen rijden , Brundle en Chandock, dan hoeft hij voor zo,n uitspraak waarschijnlijk niet op dit forum mee te lezen ... ;)

Als Lewis echt zo sociaal begaan is als hij van de daken schreeuwt dan stopt hij er mee. Hij zou ook door kunnen gaan en alle races boycotten in landen waar ze er andere maatstaven op nahouden dan hijzelf op het gebied van mensenrechten. Dat zou een sterker statement zijn dan voor iedere race even op een knie gaan zitten.
