Kimi Raikkonen is niet geïnteresseerd in 500e race van zijn team

Het Istanbul Park Circuit staat weer op de kalender en dit weekend mag de Formule 1 er racen, de laatste keer dat de Formule 1-bolides over het circuit scheurden was in 2011. Het circus kwam daar voor het eerst in 2005, maar na 2011 was het alweer klaar. Door het coronavirus kwam de baan weer op de kalender en zal het voor velen een leuke ervaring zijn.

Het circuit kent een paar moeilijke uitdagingen, vooral bocht 8 is er daar één van. De bocht is erg lang en je kan er met veel snelheid doorheen. Ook heeft het circuit een nieuwe laag asfalt, wat we kennen van het circuit in Portugal. Coureurs zullen hierdoor in de problemen kunnen komen.

Voor veel coureurs is dit circuit nieuw, behalve voor de coureurs die al een aantal jaar meedraaien. Kimi Raikkonen is één van die ervaren coureurs. De Alfa Romeo-coureur vindt het leuk om terug te keren naar Turkije. Het team racet dit weekend haar 500ste race, maar daar heeft Kimi uiteraard niet veel mee. "Het evenement van dit weekend is race 500 voor het team. Ik ben niet erg geïnteresseerd in cijfers, maar het is een mooie mijlpaal, vooral voor alle mensen die al die jaren voor het team hebben gewerkt", zo zegt hij in het persbericht van Alfa Romeo.

Bocht nummer 8

De oudste coureur van de grid eindigt over het circuit en de race. "Wat betreft de race, het is leuk om terug te komen naar een plek als Turkije. Het is een circuit dat in het verleden goed beviel, dus het zal interessant zijn om te zien hoe de moderne Formule 1-auto's het doen."

"Iedereen praat over bocht acht. Met de auto's die we nu hebben, is het misschien niet zo indrukwekkend vanuit de cockpit. Het zal natuurlijk leuk zijn om het via de TV te bekijken, maar er zijn veel andere bochten waar een coureur daar het verschil kan maken", zo vertelde de coureur met nummer zeven op de bolide.

Het tijdschema is ook anders. We starten de eerste training om 09:00 op de vrijdag, de tweede training gaat vier uur later van start. Zaterdag begint de actie om 10:00 met de derde vrije training. De kwalificatie op zaterdag zal om 13:00 van start gaan en de race op de zondag om 11:10.

Het team als Alfa Romeo of het Team in zijn geheel dus met de periode als Sauber/bmw sauber?

  Was ook mijn eerste gedachte / vraag.
  Als het voor Sauber is vind ik het meer cachet hebben voor Alfa, aangezien Alfa (imo) een slechte branding is van Ferrari en niets met het oude Alfa Romeo te maken heeft.
