Albon over zijn crash: "Ik ben er gewend aan geraakt"

Alexander Albon leek de laatste weken beter in zijn vel te zitten en had een aantal goede resultaten. Vooral in Turkije zat hij dicht in de buurt van Max Verstappen maar uiteindelijk eindigde hij toch weer achter de Nederlander.

De komende drie weken zullen cruciaal worden voor de Thaise Brit want na de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi, die over twee weken plaatsvindt, zal Helmut Marko beslissen of Albon mag blijven als teamgenoot van Verstappen bij Red Bull. Vandaag deed Albon zichzelf echter geen plezier want hij had tijdens de tweede training een zware crash, waarbij de hele rechter zijkant van zijn Red Bull aan flarden werd gereden.

Crash

Na de training zei Albon dat hij gewend is geraakt om te crashen: "De crash was oké, ik heb er wel vaker mee te maken gehad dus ik ben er gewend aan geraakt. Het is slechts één van die dingen die niet hadden hoeven gebeuren."

"Ik was verrast door het gebrek aan grip op het circuit. De hoek van de crash was erg vervelend maar het gaat verder goed met mij, ik heb er niks aan over gehouden. Ik hield me in maar het bleek niet genoeg om de crash te voorkomen."

Vreemd gedrag banden

Albon was blij met hoe het weekend in Bahrein is gestart: "De wagen voelde tijdens de eerste training meteen goed aan. Tijdens de tweede sessie hebben we wat dingen aangepast maar dat werkte niet."

"De grip op het circuit pakte snel op maar gedroeg zich raar toen ik reed op het nieuwe prototype band van Pirelli. De banden voor 2021 gedragen zich vreemd. Bijna het hele jaar gaan de achterbanden eraan en met de prototypes voor 2021 zijn het juist de voorbanden die heel snel slijten. Dat is iets waar we over na moeten denken want het gebeurt al in de eerste snelle ronde en daarna is de band meteen weg."

Als je went aan crashes , dan oet je de eer aan zelf houdebn en een klase lager zoeken alex , en daar hoef je niet om te schamen....

Die rijd volgend jaar nog gewoon langs Max, als Redbull nu gewoon een stabielere wagen bouwt, komt
hij gewoon mee, hij heeft een goede mentaliteit en is bereid er alles in te stoppen, deed Redbull dat ook
maar eens.
En bijkomstigheid voor hem is dat de eigenaren uit Thailand komen en die zullen hem niet 1 2 3 droppen.
