Franse Grand Prix ontvangt maximaal 15.000 bezoekers per dag in 2021

De organisatie van de Franse Grand Prix heeft goedkeuring gekregen voor om in 2021 de F1-race te laten verrijden voor het oog van toeschouwers. Het zullen er niet veel zijn, slechts 15.000, maar dat was de enige optie die werd gegeven. De andere opties was om helemaal geen toeschouwers op de tribunes te hebben.

Hoewel veel andere Europese circuits dit jaar races organiseerden met een beperkt publiek of helemaal geen toeschouwers, werd de Franse GP van 2020 volledig afgelast vanwege de pandemie.

"Onze ogen zijn al gericht op de zomer van 2021 om onze toeschouwers een nog ongekend evenement te bieden", zei directeur Eric Boullier afgelopen april.

Nu blijkt echter dat slechts 15.000 toeschouwers per dag het evenement in 2021 mogen bijwonen. De wedstrijdorganisator bevestigde dit: "Er zullen 15.000 toeschouwers per dag zijn, verdeeld over drie zones van elk 5000 zitplaatsen."

"Deze beperking van het aantal toeschouwers zal schaalbaar zijn, afhankelijk van de verbetering van de gezondheidssituatie en de volgende beslissingen van de Franse regering."

ps niet dat ik begrijp dat er zoveel mensen bij de Franse GP aanwezig willen zijn maar dat is weer een ander verhaal. Ik heb Oostenrijk al geboekt dus daarom hoop ik dat het circus gewoon "normaal" doorgaat! :-)
