Motorproblemen Vettel, gebruikte krachtbron wordt gemonteerd

Sebastian Vettel sloot zijn derde vrije training van de Grand Prix van Sakhir eerder af dan gepland. De Duitser trof tegen het einde van de sessie een probleem, en werd daarom de pits in geroepen. Later werd er bevestigd dat het ging om een probleem aan de krachtbron in de SF1000.

Ferrari heeft inmiddels weten te bevestigen dat zij een gebruikte krachtbron in de SF1000 gaan monteren. Zo zorgt het team uit Maranello ervoor dat er geen gridstraf wordt toegewezen, aangezien ze nog niet over de drie toegewezen motoren zijn gegaan dit seizoen. Het is nu de vraag of de Ferrari-monteurs het voor elkaar kunnen krijgen qua tijd; ze hebben slechts twee uur om de klus te klaren.
