FIA: "We hopen in 2021 op een normaal verloop van F1-seizoen"

De Formule 1 hoopt op een seizoen in 2021 dat zo normaal mogelijk verloopt. Dat zegt Bruno Famin, de operationeel directeur van de FIA die dit jaar de leiding heeft gehad over de gigantische inspanningen van de sport om te blijven racen temidden van de pandemie.

"Over het algemeen was 2020 een slecht seizoen", zei Fernando Alonso, die volgend jaar fulltime terugkeert bij Renault-Alpine, in Abu Dhabi. "Ik denk niet dat iemand er met plezier aan zal denken."

Degenen die hopen dat het aanbreken van 2021 automatisch een terugkeer naar normaal betekent, zullen echter teleurgesteld zijn. Famin zei namens die FIA tegen RTBF: "Er zullen natuurlijk beperkingen moeten zijn in 2021, want de pandemie is helaas nog steeds aan de gang."

"Het kunnen beperkingen op de plaats zelf zijn of verboden om in bepaalde landen aan te komen, quarantaines die extreem problematisch kunnen worden. Maar het is duidelijk dat de zaken in de goede richting gaan, ook al zijn er nog veel onzekerheden."

"We moeten erin slagen en implementeren wat nodig is om een kampioenschap te houden dat zo normaal mogelijk is. Maar alleen de tijd zal het leren of dat realistisch is."

2021 zal zo'n beetje verlopen als 2020, het is al bijna 2021, ze zullen het gehele jaar nodig hebben om het Vaccine uit te rollen over de wereld, en dan is ook nog de vraag werkt het. Als alles mee zit zal je een normaal jaar krijgen in 2022, ik verwacht niet veel eerder.

  Het gaat idd niet een gewoon seizoen worden, de reus branche heeft 2921 ook al geskipt.
  De vaccins zijn nog niet voldoende goed om te kunnen vaccineren.
  Zandvoort of geen race of zonder publiek.
  
  We zien allemaal de gevolgen van de koopjes jagers op black friday.

  hoe gaat het volgend jaar lopen? Er zijn diverse lezingen van deskundigen, als ze met het vaccineren van de ouderen/zwakkeren en het zorgpersoneel een heel eind op weg zijn, dan wellicht in combinatie met dalende cijfers, gaat het weer langzaam richting 'normaal' verwacht ik, daar de 60 minners niet tot de grote risico groep behoren (qua ernstige ziekteverschijnselen), hoe dan ook draaien we dan zeker alweer tegen de zomer.
  Vwb F1 verwacht ik nog een afwijkend seizoen

Lijkt me niet reeël , alsof je begin volgend-jaar een knopje om kan zetten... Verloop lijkt nog steeds niet dat het minder aan t worden is.... Ook niet duidelijk of zelfs dat/een vaccin werkt, in Australië schijnen er nu al problemen mee te zijn .

Ja, ik hoop ook op een normaal seizoen. In Amerika vallen meer doden dan ooit, in NL gaan we in lockdown, tot en met april zeker geen grootschalige vaccinaties en waarschijnlijk in september pas alles weer normaal. En dat is hoe het er nu uitziet. En we weten dat altijd alles tegenvalt. Maar nogmaals, ik hoop op een normaal seizoen want ik heb mijn 8 miljard investering gehalveerd zien worden in minder dan een jaar. ... kuch ...
