Liuzzi neemt niet deel aan kwalificatie, Rosberg nog onzeker

Vitantonio Liuzzi kende vanochtend een heftige crash in de eerste bocht van het circuit. De HRT-wagen werd bijna volledig afgeschreven en het team maakt momenteel geen aanstalten de wagen te repareren.

Liuzzi zal dus ook niet deelnemen aan de kwalificatie. Het zal daardoor de vraag zijn of de stewards hem morgen van start zullen laten gaan tijdens de race. Tijdens de eerste training reed Liuzzi een tijd die buiten de 107% zou vallen. De tweede training zette de Italiaan geen tijd neer, en ook de tijd die hij vanochtend had staan viel buiten de 107%.

Bij Mercedes is men met man en macht bezig de wagen voor Nico Rosberg op tijd klaar te bouwen voor de kwalificatie. Het zal erom hangen of Rosberg ook daadwerkelijk nog een ronde kan rijden. Mocht Rosberg niet kunnen kwalificeren, lijkt het geen probleem voor hem om toch deel te kunnen nemen aan de race, gezien zijn tijden eerder dit weekend.
