Officieel: Aston Martin F1 Team strikt Cognizant als titelsponsor

Het Formule 1-team van Aston Martin heeft een eerste grote slag geslagen. De Britse renstal weet zich de komende jaren verzekerd van de steun van Cognizant. De Amerikaanse multinational heeft zich als titelsponsor aan Aston Martin F1 Team verbonden en krijgt dan ook een prominente plek op de auto's, kleding en andere uitingen van de renstal.

Aston Martin-eigenaar Lawrence Stroll: "De terugkeer van Aston Martin in de Formule 1 na meer dan 60 jaar weggeweest te zijn is een mijlpaal voor de sport. Iedereen weet waar Aston Martin voor staat, maar de Formule 1 stelt ons in staat om de essentie van het merk naar nieuwe plekken te brengen, waarbij we voortborduren op de sterke fundering die Racing Point voor ons heeft gelegd. Ik ben extreem trots dat we dit nieuwe hoofdstuk beginnen met de steun van Cognizant. In de huidige wereld, met een immer gaande digitale revolutie, kan ik me geen betere partner wensen om mee samen te werken in ons streven om van Aston Martin een van de geweldigste teams van de Formule 1 te maken."

Cognizant-directeur Brian Humphries vult aan: "We zijn absoluut verguld om als titelsponsor van Aston Martin F1 Team aan de slag te gaan. Onze globale merken hebben veel met elkaar gemeen. Cognizant is geen kleine jongen met een beurswaarde (NASDAQ: CTSH) van 43,5 miljard. Dat is bijna net zo groot als Daimler en 4 keer zoveel als Renault bijvoorbeeld. Die kunnen wel wat.
