F1 ontkent geheim vaccinatieplan

De Formule 1 heeft ontkend dat de sport werkt aan een geheim plan om iedereen die naar een Grand Prix afreist te vaccineren voor het seizoen 2021 begint. Aangezien de kalender gisteren officieel al voor het eerst is gewijzigd en de verwachting is dat diverse andere races ook zullen worden uitgesteld, beweerde de Zwitserse krant Blick dat de leiding van de F1 zich bezig houdt met een plan om de verstoringen te minimaliseren met een wijdverbreid vaccinatieprogramma tegen corona.

"Ik kan bevestigen dat het bericht niet klopt en er is geen plan van de FIA of de Formule 1 om dit te doen", vertelde een woordvoerder aan de Duitse omroep N-TV.

Een andere race die begin 2021 op het spel staat is Monaco, waar een evenement zonder toeschouwers niet haalbaar is. Maar nog grotere vraagtekens hangen over de vraag of teams die gevestigd zijn in Engeland überhaupt kunnen reizen te midden van de stijgende uitbraak van de naar verluidt meer besmettelijke corona-variant, ook wel Britse corona genoemd.

    OT: Mede door de lockdown in de UK waar veel teams gevestigd zijn + de huidige (economische) crisis wat dit met zich meebrengt zou het wel eens kunnen gebeuren dat het nieuwe reglement van 2022 naar 2023 verschoven gaat worden.
    Een beslissing hierover gaat de FIA/LM waarschijnlijk in februari nemen.

      De FIA heeft hier inmiddels op gereageerd en gezegd dat het bericht complete onzin is.
      Ook heeft iemand van de F1 gereageerd. Bron Aut*sp*rt.

      A spokesman [from F1] said: "Any suggestion the 2022 regulations will be delayed is wrong and has not been discussed.

      "The new regulations are designed to improve competition on track and give our fans closer racing. This combined with the new financial regulations will improve F1 and create a healthier and stronger business model for the whole sport."

      Maakt toch niets uit. Ik zag het toevallig,
      dus dacht ik plaats het maar even.
      Dat soort verzonnen berichten zullen nog wel veel meer verschijnen,
      nu er bijna geen nieuws is.

      En dan te bedenken dat die variant al in september 2020 is ontdekt en nu pas tot probleem wordt gebombardeerd, maar er vliegen continu vliegtuigen tussen GB en andere landen. Dat vind ik toch best opmerkelijk.
