Valtteri Bottas verkent proeven van de Arctic Lapland Rally

Mercedes-coureur Valtteri Bottas kan komend weekend weer wat wedstrijdritme opdoen. Na een maand zonder races verschijnt de Fin namelijk aan de start van de Arctic Lapland Rally. De afgelopen dagen is hij druk bezig geweest met de verkenning van de proeven, zoals te zien is op de foto.

Het is voor het derde opeenvolgende jaar dat Bottas deelneemt aan de Arctic Lapland Rally. Vorig jaar wist hij keurig in de top tien van de einduitslag te finishen. De komende twee dagen scheurt de Fin in een Citroën DS3 over de besneeuwde en bevroren wegen rondom het plaatsje Mäntyvaara.

Bottas beschouwt zijn rally-uitje als ideale manier om zich op een ontspannen wijze voor te bereiden op het nieuwe Formule 1-seizoen. De 31-jarige Fin zal in 2021 een nieuwe poging wagen om zijn ongenaakbare teamgenoot Lewis Hamilton van de troon te stoten.
