Sebastian Vettel voltooit seatfitting bij Aston Martin F1 Team

Sebastian Vettel heeft deze week zijn eerste dagen in de fabriek van zijn nieuwe werkgever Aston Martin F1 Team doorgebracht. De Duitser heeft een stoeltje laten schuimen - een zogenaamde seatfitting - en spendeerde tijd in de simulator van de Britse renstal, meldt F1-Insider.com.

Vettel begint bij Aston Martin aan een nieuw hoofdstuk. De Duitser stond van 2015 tot en met 2020 onder contract bij Ferrari, maar hij slaagde er niet in om de Scuderia de vurig gewenste wereldtitel te bezorgen. Daarvoor racete hij voor Red Bull Racing, waarmee hij vier keer wereldkampioen werd.

Oud-coureur Ralf Schumacher is benieuwd wat Vettel bij Aston Martin kan laten zien. Aan Sky Deutschland deelde hij mede: "Ik ben blij dat Sebastian nu weer een team heeft dat achter hem staat. Maar Aston Martin heeft nog niet de capaciteiten om zich te meten met de echte top. Je kunt een koe niet zomaar in een tijger veranderen."
