Mercedes moet bijna 4,5 miljoen inschrijfgeld aan FIA betalen

Het team van Mercedes heeft de rekening voor het succesvolle seizoen 2020 gepresenteerd gekregen. Door de goede resultaten vorig jaar betaalt de Duitse renstal ook het meeste inschrijfgeld voor de komende jaargang. Auto Motor und Sport heeft berekend dat de regerend kampioen dit keer bijna 4,5 miljoen dollar aan de internationale autosportbond FIA over moet maken.

De federatie baseert het inschrijfgeld voor de Formule 1-teams altijd op de prestaties uit het voorgaande seizoen. Voor de kampioen geldt een tarief van 6.830 dollar per gescoord punt, alle overige teams moeten 5.691 dollar per verzameld punt aftikken. Het basisbedrag is voor alle renstallen hetzelfde en bedraagt 569.308 dollar.

Williams pakte geen enkel punt en betaalt dus 569.308 dollar aan inschrijfgeld. Mercedes komt met de titel en 573 punten uit op een totaalbedrag van 4.482.898 dollar. Dit is overigens nog wel ongeveer 1 miljoen dollar minder dan wat de Duitse renstal vorig jaar aan inschrijfgeld moest ophoesten. Dat ligt natuurlijk aan het feit dat vorig seizoen uit minder races bestond.

Het verval van Ferrari heeft zodoende toch nog een voordeel, het scheelt de Scuderia zo'n 2 miljoen dollar aan verplichte inschrijfkosten. De rest van de teams is te vinden in het overzicht hieronder.

  Ik snap m nie... Brawn GP was een nieuwe inschrijving en betaalde dus enkel de basis fee die Williams nu ook betaald omdat er geen punten waren vanuit 2008. De 1 Dollar overname wordt vaker gebruikt, meer om bepaalde typen overdrachtsbelasting te verminderen. Daarnaast kreeg Brawn nog 45 miljoen van Honda mee, maar die 1 euro had weinig met inschrijfgeld te maken?
