Eerste deelnemers voor Race of Champions 2022 in Zweden bekend

De Race of Champions keert begin volgend jaar terug, op een bevroren meer nabij het Zweedse plaatsje Pite Havsbad in de buurt van de noordpoolcirkel. De organisatie heeft nu al de eerste namen van deelnemers aan het evenement bekend kunnen maken.

Team Nordic bestaat uit WRX-rijder Johan Kristoffersson en Le Mans-legende Tom Kristensen. Zij zijn ook de regerend kampioen in de ROC Nations Cup en zullen dus hun titel verdedigen. Kristensen schreef negen keer de 24 uur van Le Mans op zijn naam en heeft ook drie maal de ROC Nations Cup gewonnen, maar het individuele toernooi heeft hij ondanks drie finaleplaatsen nog niet aan zijn indrukwekkende erelijst toe kunnen voegen.

Zij krijgen gezelschap van vader en zoon Solberg. WRC- en WRX-kampioen Petter Solberg en aanstormend rallytalent Oliver Solberg bundelen de krachten in Team Noorwegen. De exacte datum voor de Race of Champions 2022 wordt op een later moment bekendgemaakt.
