De Daytona 500 op de Daytona International Speedway is met een klapper geëindigd. Leiders Joey Logano en Brad Keselowski tikten elkaar aan, waarna Keselowski richting de muur schoof. Vervolgens kon een groot deel van het veld achter hem zijn auto niet meer ontwijken, waarna het ontaardde in een megacrash - inclusief vlammen. Aan het begin van de race was er ook al een massaal ongeluk. De winst ging overigens naar Michael McDowell.
