RTL Duitsland mag komend seizoen toch vier Grands Prix uitzenden

Goed nieuws voor de Formule 1-fans die geen Ziggo Sport ontvangen en/of graag afstemmen op het Duitse RTL: de zender mag komend seizoen toch vier races uitzenden. Dat meldt zowel F1-Insider.com als Motorsport-Total.com. RTL heeft het nieuws zelf nog niet bevestigd.

In Duitsland heeft Sky Deutschland sinds dit jaar de exclusieve rechten in het bezit. Het leek er even op dat de Formule 1 daardoor helemaal van het open net zou verdwijnen, maar RTL en Sky zouden nu een akkoord hebben bereikt over een viertal Grands Prix die ook op RTL te zien zullen zijn.

Om welke races het gaat, dat is nog niet bekend. De crew van RTL zal weer uit pitreporter Kai Ebel en commentatoren Heiko Wasser en Christian Danner bestaan. F1-Insider.com stelt dat oud Formule 1-coureur Nico Rosberg de analyses zal verzorgen voor RTL.

Voor Ebel komt zo toch een bijzondere mijlpaal in zicht. De Duitser is verslaggever geweest bij 498 Grands Prix en heeft dus nog twee Formule 1-races nodig om de 500 te halen. "Toch een beetje een stom getal, niet?", zei Ebel in gesprek met het blad Formule 1 over het aantal waarop hij leek te blijven steken. Nu lijkt hij alsnog de 500 Grands Prix te kunnen halen.

    Fijn voor de Duitsers maar ook de paar Belgen en Nederlanders die het op die manier kunnen zien.
    Zelf hou ik het bij ziggo. Geen zin in al dat reclame crap wat tussen de wedstrijd op RTL word uitgestort.
    Beter had RTL dat reclame in 1 groot blok na wedstrijd kunnen doen. Maar dat geld ook voor veel programma’s op andere zenders waar een teveel is aan reclame met nadruk op te.
