BWT blijft toch bij Aston Martin, alleen minder prominent

Sponsor BWT heeft verrassend toch voor een langer verblijf bij Aston Martin F1 Team gekozen. Het watertechnologiebedrijf leek op weg naar een andere renstal en voerde gesprekken met Haas F1 Team en Williams. De auto's van Aston Martin krijgen namelijk een overwegend groene kleur en dat valt niet te rijmen met de wens van BWT voor roze bolides.

De gesprekken met Haas F1 Team waren al stukgelopen, maar de verwachting was dat BWT zich als titelsponsor aan Williams zou verbinden. De firma blijft echter bij Aston Martin F1 Team, vorig jaar nog Racing Point, en neemt genoegen met een minder prominente plek op de wagens. Een team in de subtop genoot uiteindelijk de voorkeur boven een renstal in de achterhoede.

Aston Martin-teambaas Otmar Szafnauer: "Onze vrienden van BWT zijn al jaren trouwe supporters van ons team en het doet me deugd dat ze ervoor gekozen hebben om ons ook in de hoedanigheid van Aston Martin F1 Team te steunen. BWT gaat ons helpen om meer duurzaam te worden, met name met onze activiteiten op het circuit. Dit betekent een nieuw hoofdstuk voor deze sterke en historische samenwerking, waar we ons allemaal op verheugen."

BWT-directeur Andreas Weißenbacher: "Ik ben trots om de steun aan dit prachtige team en deze geweldige groep mensen voort te zetten en ik kijk uit naar het begin van een nieuw tijdperk met de terugkeer van Aston Martin in de Formule 1. Het sterke seizoen 2020 belooft veel goeds voor de komende jaren en we willen het team vergezellen in hun reis naar de top."

Jammer, ik vond die roze livery wel mooi en onderscheidend. Had deze graag teruggezien bij Haas of Williams. Die teams hebben nu een niet echt bijzondere uitstraling

Het leuke vind ik dat ik dat suikerspin roze niet kan rijmen met dat sjieke donkergroen v Aston Martin. Cognizant staat waarschijnlijk op de sidepods, dus dan zou BWT terugkomen in enginecover of voor- en achtervleugel. Dat wordt n wonderlijke mix van kleuren. Ik had ze echter graag allebei gezien; de livery zonder BWT en de livery met BWT.
Hoe dan ook, ben erg nieuwsgierig hoe ze hier een werkende livery v gaan maken. Maar dat ie one of a kind is, staat op voorhand vast.

  Ik hoop met je mee, en ik heb de afgelopen dagen al diverse toffe groen met roze renders voorbij zien komen.
  
  Waar ik echter voor vrees is dat het BWT logo in het wit wordt uitgevoerd en ergens op de groene auto wordt geplakt tussen o.a. de wit geletterde Cognizant en AM bestickering

  Dat zou dan idd een tegenvaller zijn, maar roze is echt het handelsmerk v BWT dus ik geloof wel dat roze gebruikt gaat worden; Ik denk dat het een donkergroene wagen wordt met een roze BWT muts (engine cover) en wat belijning, maar zou t leuk(er) vinden als t n groene AM wordt met roze wangen (sidepods) en dan met Cognizant gewoon op de enginecover.
