Team Lotus-coureur Heikki Kovalainen verheugt zich op de komende Grand Prix. Die vindt plaats in Canada en Montreal is een populaire locatie van de Formule 1-rijders. De stad leeft tijdens het evenement en het circuit kan ook menigeen bekoren.

Kovalainen: Canada is een van de hoogtepunten van het jaar en ik weet dat iedereen in het team uitkijkt naar volgend weekend. De intensiteit is niet hetzelfde als in Monaco, maar Montreal komt wel tot leven als de Formule 1 langs komt. De mensen staan achter het evenement en de sfeer is geweldig. Het publiek heeft veel verstand van autosport en de tribunes zitten constant vol.

Het circuit is een mooi en uitdagend. De baan is zwaar voor de remmen en het is zaak om in de remzones op je best te zijn, anders noteer je geen snelle tijden. De kerbstones goed gebruiken vormt eveneens een sleutel voor een goede ronde. Het doel is om ons niveau van Spanje te evenaren, het liefst te verbeteren. Monaco was een uitzonderlijke race. We hebben nu meer data en kunnen daardoor de potentie beter benutten. Canada is een mooie plek om dat te doen.
