Grand Prix met de langste naam dit jaar gesteund door Pirelli

Bandenleverancier Pirelli heeft zich als titelsponsor verbonden aan de tweede Formule 1-race van het seizoen 2021. Op 18 april is Imola gastheer van de Grand Prix met mogelijk de langste naam in de geschiedenis van de koningsklasse van de autosport: de Grand Prix del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia Romagna. Met de naam van de sponsor erbij wordt dat dus: de Pirelli Grand Prix del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia Romagna.

Vorig jaar was vliegmaatschappij Emirates nog titelsponsor van wat toen de Emirates Grand Prix dell'Emilia Romagna heette. Voor de komende editie valt die eer dus Pirelli ten deel.

    Sorry hoor, maar dit gaat toch compleet nergens meer over?
    Ten eerste vind ik dat een sponsor los moet staan van de naam van de grand prix.
    Ten tweede; "Made in Italy" voegt toch helemaal niks toe aan de naam?

    Een goede naam is relatief kort en bondig. Het moet in één oogopslag te herkennen zijn. Al dit soort toevoegingen streven hun doel voorbij en zorgen er denk ik voor dat een hele hoop mensen de naam zullen ontwijken. Ik zelf zal het bijvoorbeeld de "Grand Prix van Imola" gaan noemen.

      Made in Italy is ook een "merknaam" (of hoe je het ook maar wilt benoemen). Het voegt inderdaad weinig toe, maar zal wel met financiën te maken hebben, geld innen vanuit de regio namelijk en BuZa.

    Mooi zo'n officiele naam, maar iedereen en zijn moeder noemt het gewoon de grand prix van Imola, behalve als de intro tune klinkt.

    Heel eerlijk gezegd vind ik de wildgroei van GP namen een beetje jammer. Gewoon het land aangeven, klaar.
    Zoals het altijd ging sinds de oprichting van het officiele kampioenschap (pre-F1 en non championship daar gelaten) eigenlijk. En bij Imola was het dan San Marino.

    Sinds vorig jaar werdt dat plots anders. Maar wat is er mis met GP of Italy 1 en GP of Italy 2, 1st 2021 GP of Italy en 2nd 2021 Italian GP etc.?
