Williams past 'augmented reality' toe op presentatie FW43B

Het team van Williams onthult vrijdag de auto voor het komende Formule 1-seizoen en maakt daarbij gebruik van augmented reality. Dat is een techniek waarmee fans de nieuwe FW43B in volledig formaat bij henzelf thuis in 3D kunnen projecteren. Daar is wel een speciale app voor nodig.

Deze 'Williams Racing AR launch 2021'-app is al te downloaden in de appstore van Apple en komt voor 5 maart ook voor Android beschikbaar. Via die app wordt een notificatie verstuurd zodra de FW43B te zien is. De shakedown van de bolide is reeds verricht op het circuit van Silverstone.

Williams doet in 2021 weer een beroep op rijders George Russell en Nicholas Latifi. De Britse renstal is niet langer in handen van de Williams-familie. Investeringsmaatschappij Dorilton Capital kocht het team vorig jaar. Simon Roberts fungeert als teambaas en Jost Capito is aangesteld als nieuwe directeur.
