Alpine zonder teambaas, tandem Budkowski-Brivio aan het roer

Alpine heeft zich een afwijkende organisatiestructuur aangemeten. De Franse renstal heeft ervoor gekozen om de vertrokken teambaas Cyril Abiteboul niet één op één te vervangen. In plaats daarvan staat er een duo aan het roer bij Alpine F1 Team: Marcin Budkowski en Davide Brivio.

Budkowski was de voorbije jaren al werkzaam voor het fabrieksteam van Renault. Daarvoor bekleedde hij de functie van technisch directeur bij de internationale autosportbond FIA. Brivio is afkomstig uit de MotoGP, waar hij vele successen vierde met Yamaha en Suzuki.

Alpine-directeur Laurent Rossi legt uit: "Marcin en Davide zullen samenwerken en een tandem vormen. De structuur van de rest van het team blijft ongewijzigd. Binnen het team is verder alles bij het oude gebleven en nog hetzelfde als vorig jaar."

Budkowski beseft dat een team zonder traditionele teambaas voor de buitenwacht misschien een beetje vreemd lijkt. "Onze structuur wijkt iets af van wat gebruikelijk is, maar de rollen en verantwoordelijkheden zijn duidelijk verdeeld en afgebakend. We noemen de functies alleen anders."

Als je ziet wat Davide in korte tijd bereikt heeft met Suzuki zou ik hem zeker niet onderschatten.
