Oakley keert als partner van Aston Martin terug in de Formule 1

Aston Martin heeft zonnebrillen- en kledingmerk Oakley als nieuwe partner in de armen gesloten. Voor de in 1975 in Californië opgerichte firma, tegenwoordig onderdeel van Luxottica, betekent dit een terugkeer in de Formule 1 na vier jaar afwezigheid. Oakley was in 2016 voor het laatst actief in de koningsklasse van de autosport, toen als partner van Ferrari.

Jefferson Slack, commercieel- en marketingdirecteur bij Aston Martin F1 Team: "Wij beschouwen het als een voorrecht om de naam Oakley terug te brengen in de Formule 1. Het is een merk met ongelooflijk erfgoed in de sportwereld, een naam die synoniem staat voor vooruitstrevende performance en technologische innovatie. Zo bezien passen ze perfect bij ons team. Het is een mooie toevoeging voor ons portfolio op gebied van luxe goederen, in die sector hebben we uitstekend werk verricht op weg naar 2021."

Namens Oakley reageerde directeur Caio Amato als volgt: "We zijn vereerd om de handen ineen te slaan met het team van Aston Martin. Autosport heeft ons bij Oakley altijd gefascineerd, het is een van de meest extreme vormen van sport op deze planeet.
