Williams Racing verwelkomt Honibe als nieuwe partner voor 2021

Het wemelt van de berichten van teams die vlak voor het begin van het eerste Grand Prix-weekend van dit jaar nog snel even nieuwe partners aankondigen, dus kon Williams niet achterblijven. De Britse renstal heet Honibe, producent van gezondheids- en welnessproducten op basis van honing, welkom als partner voor het seizoen 2021.

Het logo van Honibe figureert prominent op de FW43B, namelijk op de neus en op de headrest. Daarnaast staat de naam van het bedrijf op de mouwen van de overalls van coureurs Nicholas Latifi en George Russell. Honibe is afkomstig uit de pijplijn van investeringsmaatschappij Dorilton Capital, sinds afgelopen zomer eigenaar van het team van Williams.

Tim Hunt, commercieel- en marketingdirecteur bij Williams: "Het doet me deugd om Honibe te verwelkomen als nieuwe partner van Williams. De reis waar we samen aan beginnen is uniek en opgesteld aan de hand van een gedeelde agenda om duurzame groei te bewerkstelligen. Honibe behoort tot de groep bedrijven die onder het beheer van Dorilton valt en dit is andermaal bewijs van de nieuwe commerciële richting die we met Williams zijn ingeslagen."

John Rowe, directeur van Honibe-moederbedrijf Island Abbey Foods: "Wij geloven in de natuurlijke helende krachten van honing. We zijn succesvol in het aanbieden van op honing gebaseerde oplossingen ten behoeve van gezondheid en welness. Deze samenwerking met Williams biedt ons de mogelijkheid om nieuwe markten te bereiken en onze boodschap verder te verspreiden."

Nice. Ik heb het gevoel dat het de goede kant op gaat met dit team sinds de overname. Goede mensen in positie gebracht (Jost Capito), sponsoren verbinden zich weer aan het team. En de atmosfeer rondom het team is positief. Als Williams betere keuzes had gemaakt met het geld vanuit bijvoorbeeld Martini en Stroll (en dus niet die profiteur van een Paddy Lowe binnenhengelde als verlosser) dan had Williams er echt een stuk beter voor kunnen staan. Claire klaagt veel over de hoge kosten, en daar heeft ze een punt, maar Williams heeft ook wel echt verkeerde keuzes gemaakt in de organisatie.

De overname van Williams is het beste dat het team kon overkomen. Nu hoop ik dat de naam voor altijd in de sport vertegenwoordigd blijft.

  Niet echt een verrassing, de man is een kampioen in luchtfietserij, de verkoop van fried air en het photobomben van celebrities. Dat wisten ze in WS zijn thuisland al langer. Dat is dat verhaal ook nauwelijks opgepikt
