Italiaanse premier niet betrokken bij plannen nieuw F1-team

Berichten dat een voormalige Italiaanse premier betrokken zou kunnen zijn bij plannen voor een nieuw Formule 1-team, zijn ontkend. Matteo Renzi, nu senator van de provincie Florence, veroorzaakte onlangs opschudding in de Italiaanse media toen hij langs het circuit werd gezien tijdens de eerste F1-race van het seizoen in Bahrein.

Vervolgens beweerde het gespecialiseerde Italiaanse tijdschrift Autosprint dat de voormalige premier mogelijk betrokken was bij een nieuw op te zetten F1-team uit Saoedi-Arabië.

Maar een bron bij Autosprint heeft nu verteld dat de bewering 'duidelijk ironisch' was, aangezien het deel uitmaakte van een reguliere satirische column. Het bijzondere verhaal kan dus in de ijskast gestopt worden.
