Lawrence Stroll zet het Canadese circuit Mont-Tremblant te koop

Het Canadese circuit van Mont-Tremblant staat te koop. De eigenaar is nu nog niemand minder dan Aston Martin-baas Lawrence Stroll, maar de zakenman wil van de baan af. De brochure vermeldt geen prijskaartje, maar die is op aanvraag te verkrijgen via de verkopende makelaar.

Geïnteresseerden moeten echter snel zijn, de deadline om een bod in te dienen ligt op 15 april aanstaande. Het circuit van Mont-Tremblant is sinds 2000 in handen van Lawrence Stroll. Hij heeft flink in de faciliteiten geïnvesteerd. Zo is de baan opnieuw geasfalteerd en verbreed en de pitstraat is gerenoveerd.

Mont-Tremblant was in 1968 en 1970 gastheer voor de Grand Prix van Canada, respectievelijk gewonnen door Denny Hulme en Jacky Ickx. Het circuit vormde in 2007 ook nog het decor voor een Champ Car-race, met Robert Doornbos als winnaar.

Die ChampCar race was trouwens erg tof van Doornbos. Hij won ten koste van Sébastian Bourdais (die had zijn dag niet) en weigerde een hand van Doornbos op het podium.
