FIA doet wederom een beroep op Tom Kristensen als extra steward

Tom Kristensen fungeert komend weekend bij de Grand Prix van Portugal op het Autódromo Internacionale do Algarve opnieuw als oud-coureur in de wedstrijdleiding. De Deen deed twee weken geleden bij de Grand Prix van Emilia-Romagna op het circuit van Imola ook al dienst als extra steward.

Kristensen heeft zelf nooit in de Formule 1 geracet. Hij testte wel voor Minardi, Tyrrell en Jaguar, en bereidde bandenleverancier Michelin voor op een terugkeer in de Formule 1 met een Williams uit 2000. Kristensen was vooral succesvol in de 24 uur van Le Mans die hij acht maal op zijn naam schreef. Eind 2014 zette hij een punt achter zijn imposante carrière.

De andere stewards dit weekend in Portimao zijn Gerd Ennser, Dennis Dean en Paulo Magalhães.
