Gevaar van juridische stappen door Aston Martin F1 Team is geweken

Aston Martin F1 Team legt zich definitief neer bij de reglementen zoals die nu zijn en zal geen juridische stappen ondernemen om daar nog iets aan te veranderen. De Britse renstal voelde zich benadeeld door de nieuwe regels, omdat zij daar meer last van zouden hebben dan andere renstallen. De reglementen zijn echter gedegen en volgens het juiste proces tot stand gekomen, is nu het oordeel.

Alle teams zijn daarbij geraadpleegd en alle teams hebben ook ingestemd met de wijzigingen om de downforce te reduceren en de druk op de banden te verlichten voor 2021. Aston Martin staakt de strijd in de hoop om niet als slechte verliezer gezien te worden, meldt Auto Motor und Sport. Teambaas Otmar Szafnauer: "We wilden gewoon opheldering van de FIA of alles in het proces bij de totstandkoming van deze regels correct is gegaan."

De argumenten van Aston Martin brokkelden af na verklaringen van medewerkers van andere teams. James Allison, technisch directeur bij Mercedes, gaf bijvoorbeeld aan dat alle teams bij het proces betrokken zijn geweest. "We waren het allemaal eens over hoe we de downforce terug gingen dringen. We hebben ons daarbij afgevraagd of elke deelnemer en elk concept hierdoor even zwaar belast zou worden, want natuurlijk was er angst dat één van de teams hierbij gebaat zou zijn."

James Key, technisch directeur van McLaren, vult aan: "De teams waren het erover eens dat van alle opties die op tafel lagen, de oplossing voor de vloer de beste en de veiligste was. We hadden bijvoorbeeld ook de achtervleugel kleiner kunnen maken, maar dat wilde niemand. Als iemand toen al een groot competitief nadeel voor zichzelf verwacht had, dan had diegene dat op dat moment kenbaar moeten maken."

Zoals al eerder gezegd: Is gewoon ingefluisterd door Mercedes uiteraard. En als het zou lukken zouden er het einde van dit seizoen heel netjes een paar tekeningen van de wagen van volgend jaar onder de tafel worden doorgegeven.

  Van die tekeningen is onmogelijk omdat de auto's van volgend jaar er heel anders uit gaan zien. Dus de engineering vanaf foto kan niet of ze moeten zeggen engineering van toto.
  Wat me wel verbaasd is dat Mercedes het lek zo snel boven heeft aangezien RP met de zelfde rake en ophanging rijd.

  ja wat was is er een enorm gevaar afgewend..... NOT..... was sowieso een kansloze missie geweest. Bij AM hebben ze dat natuurlijk ook uiteindelijk wel gezien, Wel blaffen maar niet bijten.

Ik ben benieuwd of Wolff ook bij die gesprekken aanwezig is geweest. Want volgens hem zijn die regels alleen geïntroduceerd om Mercedes af te stoppen.
