In beeld: Red Bull Racing introduceert meerdere updates voor GP Portugal

Nadat Red Bull Racing voor de Grand Prix van Emilia Romagna geen updates heeft meegenomen, heeft het team uit Milton Keynes wél het één en ander meegenomen naar het Autódromo Internacional do Algarve voor de Grand Prix van Portugal.

Ook al kenmerkt 2021 het laatste jaar van de huidige reglementen - en zullen teams logischerwijs meer bezig zijn met het ontwikkelen van de wagens van volgend jaar - ontwikkelen de teams schijnbaar gewoon door. Mercedes introduceerde voor de vorige race al een nieuwe diffuser in de zoektocht naar meer stabiliteit aan de achterkant, en zo introduceerde bijvoorbeeld Alpine ook al een compleet nieuwe voorvleugel.

In onderstaande Twitter-posts van Spaans Formule 1-verslaggever Albert Fabrega is te zien wat voor nieuwe onderdelen Red Bull Racing heeft meegenomen als updates. Zoals te zien heeft Red Bull een gereviseerde vloer meegenomen, een deel van de wagens waar als onderdeel van de vernieuwde regels voor 2021 veel downforce is verloren. Ook heeft het team nieuwe sidepods meegenomen. Daarnaast heeft Red Bull Racing het middelste gedeelte van de diffuser aan de achterkant van de RB16B herzien.

  inderdaad, moedeloos wordt je van dat geprul bij RBR,
  als je bijvoorbeeld die aanpassingen aan de sidepod vanes ziet dan vraag je jezelf toch af; willen ze eigenlijk nog wel kampioen worden bij Red Bull ?!

Die Newew, die heeft er weer echt helemaal niks van gebakken met die updates. Wordt weer helemaal niks. McLaren gaat ze straks voorbij. Mogen blij zijn als het P3 wordt in het kampioenschap.

Zo, mijn dosis negatief er ook weer even uit gegooid voor het komende uur.

Hoe zit het nu ook alweer met de tokens, die gelden alleen voor de motor en dat zijn er drie dit seizoen? Dus het chassis mag gewoon nog continu ontwikkeld worden?

beetje mieren n**ken misschien, maar ik dacht bij nieuwe sidepods toch echt aan iets anders dan aan een verandering aan de rijwind geleiders (turning vanes).

De reden dat ik dit meld is echter dat dat soort "foutjes" mij wel redelijk stoort, en we dus door dit te melden hopelijk GPToday hier wat in kunnen helpen zodat die minder voorkomen.
