Daniel Ricciardo zet zijn McLaren op P8: "Duurde even voordat ik op snelheid kwam"

Daniel Ricciardo is blij met zijn achtste plaats tijdens de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Spanje. De vorige race in Portugal moest de Australiër nog starten vanaf de zestiende positie. 

Daniel is dan ook verheugd, al staat hij nog wel twee plaatsen achter zijn McLaren-teamgenoot Lando Norris. "Het duurde even voordat ik op snelheid kwam."

Ricciardo vervolgt: "Lando heeft buitengewoon goed gereden en dat vormde ook een uitdaging voor mij. Als je het zo bekijkt is het positief." 

Riciardo denkt dat hij nog had kunnen verbeteren als hij nog een poging had kunnen wagen, maar die tijd was er niet meer tijdens de kwalificatie. "Het was een tiende van een seconde om op de vierde plaats te komen, en die tiende had er nog wel in gezeten zeker omdat ik de auto nog onder de knie probeer te krijgen."

De snelle Australiër concludeert dan ook: "Vooruitgang betekent dan ook positiviteit."
