Toto Wolff legt uit dat Mercedes niet te koop staat

Toto Wolff bagatelliseert zorgen dat Daimler het team van Mercedes te koop zou hebben gezet. 

Vooraf aan dit seizoen werd bekend dat Ineos 33% van het team had gekocht. Volgens Mercedes wordt het succesvolle team "eigendom in drie gelijke delen van Dailmer AG, Ineos en Toto Wolff." 

Er was wel wat verwarring nadat Daimler haar cijfers voor het eerste kwartaal bekend maakte waarbij werd gesteld dat het Formule 1-team "te koop staat". 

Teambaas en mede-eigenaar Toto Wolff geeft aan dat dit slechts een verwijzing is naar de constructie met drie eigenaren die verder wordt opgetuigd. 

"Het verwijst naar de verkoop van 33 % aan Ineos en een aantal procenten aan mij. De transactie is getekend maar nog niet helemaal beklonken en wij verwachten dat dat gebeurt in het derde kwartaal. Dat is waar die tekst naar verwees", zo verduidelijkt Toto Wolff.

    Mercedes doet een gouden zaak aan de verkoop van een gedeelte van het team. Daarnaast hebben ze een budgetcap wat zeer in de smaak valt van de Duitse magnaat.
    D3 verantwoordelijkheid en risico verdelen in 3.maakt meestal zeer sterke allianties. De communicatie daaromtrent is nog veel belangrijker om de stabiliteit in het team te behouden temeer daar een grote speler (ferm) aan de mouwen komt trekken.
