Nico Rosberg geeft fout toe: "Mijn kritiek op Carlos Sainz was onterecht"

Nico Rosberg geeft toe dat hij ongelijk had met zijn beoordeling over de overstap van Carlos Sainz naar Ferrari voor 2021. De Duitser, nu expert voor de Britse en Duitse televisie, was kritisch over het besluit van Ferrari om voormalig McLaren-, Renault- en Toro Rosso-coureur Sainz aan te trekken als vervanger van Sebastian Vettel.

De wereldkampioen van 2016 zegt in gesprek met Sky Italië: "Ik had het mis. Vorig jaar was ik een van degenen die zei: 'Waarom contracteer je Carlos Sainz? Je had voor Daniel Ricciardo moeten kiezen!'. Maar als ik kijk naar waar Ricciardo nu is, maar ook naar Vettel en Perez en hoe ze het allemaal opnemen tegen Sainz, dan zijn ze allemaal nergens te bekennen."

"Van die vier geeft Sainz als enige de indruk dat hij altijd op snelheid is bij zijn nieuwe team. Hij lijkt het prima te doen met Ferrari en hij houdt Charles Leclerc scherp. In Monaco stond hij bijna op gelijke voet met Leclerc, dus ik kan Carlos alleen maar feliciteren met zijn fantastische prestaties. Uiteindelijk koos Ferrari de juiste man. Het is echt leuk om hem aan het werk te zien", zo corrigeert Rosberg zichzelf.

Lachen om teleurstelling

Rosberg juichte Sainz zelfs toe omdat hij zo teleurgesteld was dat hij geen laatste kans op pole kreeg na de crash van Charles Leclerc in Monaco, en dat hij niet ten volle genoot van zijn eerste podium voor het team uit Maranello: "Ik moest wel lachen dat hij zelfs een beetje geïrriteerd was over de tweede plaats. Hij voelde dat hij de snelheid had om op zaterdag de pole te pakken en de volgende dag de race te winnen. Dat is de houding van een winnende coureur."

Sainz gaat gewoon goed bij Ferrari. Doet nauwelijks onder voor Leclerc die al een poosje in de Ferrari rond rijdt. En dat na slechts 5 races. Dat gezegd hebbende verbaast het me niet dat Carlos lekker gaat. Bij zowel Mclaren als bij Renault en Torro Rosso deed hij het ook al uitstekend. Tof om te... [Lees verder]

Gewoon een hele degelijke snelle rijder. de ideale ´2e man´. Maakt ook weinig fouten en is de rust zelfe. Ik heb dat gouweh*er op hem nooit begrepen. Ja er was wat spanning tussen hem en Max, Maar daar zijn ze alle 2 alleen maar beter door geworden.

Nu zitten ze beide bij een topteam. Niet slekt die jeugdopleiding. Mclaren zie ik ook nog als topteam en daar rijft er ook 1 uit de ´eigen jeugd´. Dat verhaal dat hij pole had kunnen pakken roepen ze allemaal. bottas/Max/Sainz. we gaan het nooit weten. als Ferrari volgend jaar het beste pakket heeft(kan gewoon) dan hebben ze alles in huis om kampioen te worden.

  Dat kwam vooral door Papa Sainz naar mijn idee. Het was vooral senior die liep te blèren in de media, terwijl junior een hele fijne kerel is.

  Dat klopt. Is trouwens ook aangedikt door Mol/Plooij. Ik heb familie in Spanje en daar weten ze niet beter dat Sainz erg goed was met Verstappen. En volgens mij heeft Verstappen dat zelf ook ooit geroepen op vragen tijden perspraatjes.
  Dat ze op de baan intense gevechten hadden is ook waar. Ze waren elkaar concurenten. En daar is niets mis mee.

Dat gezegd hebbende verbaast het me niet dat Carlos lekker gaat. Bij zowel Mclaren als bij Renault en Torro Rosso deed hij het ook al uitstekend. Tof om te zien dat Carlos weliswaar met een omweg, alsnog de weg naar een topteam gevonden heeft!

Nico is dan ook niet uitgenodigd voor Sainzdag dit jaar.
In een brief en een Whatsappje kreeg ik ook nog wat spijtbetuigingen van mr. Rosberg. Ik heb aangeboden dat het Sainzdagteam wel coulant wil zijn mits hij een open boekje doet betreft zijn relatie met Lewis in zijn tienerjaren. Hij heeft echter nog niet gereageerd....
Ik hou jullie op de hoogte.

Pffffff,vorig jaar Nico nog geweigerd op de Sainzdag.
Nico wilde zonder lid te zijn ff gratis naar binnen te komen en lekker van alle tapas en wijn te genieten, maar Nico loog over zijn achternaam en toen had ik hem gelijk door,want hij zei dat hij haak heten met zijn achternaam.
Ja dag,toen wilde ik zijn elastieken benen wel eens zien en ja toen viel ie door de mand de vuile huigelaar!
Gelijk met kop en kont buiten gezet!
