George Russell stelt verhuisplannen naar Monaco voorlopig uit

Mercedes-protégé George Russell heeft zijn plannen om naar Monaco te verhuizen tot later dit seizoen uitgesteld, zodat hij zich kan concentreren op het presteren op het circuit en een overstap naar het de wereldkampioenen van Mercedes voor 2022, waar hij het stoeltje van Valtteri Bottas of Lewis Hamilton over wil nemen.

Russell huurt momenteel een flat in de Britse hoofdstad Londen en onthulde eerder dit jaar dat hij van plan is om zich bij de vele andere coureurs in het prinsdom te voegen nadat hij vorig jaar een groot deel van de lockdown van vorig jaar in het huis van zijn ouders op het platteland had doorgebracht.

Belangrijke maanden

De Williams-coureur onthulde dat hij na de recente race in Monaco 'sommige huizen zou gaan bekijken', maar voegde eraan toe: "Ik zal dat waarschijnlijk uitstellen tot later in het seizoen. Ik wil er pas serieus naar kijken zodra corona voorbij is en we daardoor ook af zijn van alle logistieke problemen."

"Het maakt het soms nogal moeilijk en ik wil me gewoon op het racen concentreren. Het zijn nu een paar heel belangrijke maanden voor veel coureurs wanneer de contractbesprekingen voor 2022 eraan komen."

Aangezien Russell en Bottas waarschijnlijk van zitje wisselen, kunnen ze misschien ook van huis ruilen. Dan is dat probleem ook opgelost.
