FIA plakt in Bakoe gele stickers op vleugels om te kijken hoeveel ze flexen

De FIA gaat dit weekend al in de gaten houden hoeveel de vleugels van de teams nu eigenlijk meebuigen waardoor er voordeel onstaat vanwege lagere luchtweerstand. 

De vleugels van alle teams dit weekend zijn volgens de huidige tests van de FIA goedgekeurd, maar na de Grand Prix van Spanje slingerde Lewis Hamilton een discussie aan die leidde tot de 'flexwing-gate'.

Daarop kondigde de FIA verzwaarde tests aan, waardoor veel teams tot na de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan de tijd hebben om hun vleugels te verstevigen. 

De overkoepelende autosportfederatie plakt nu gele stikkertjes op de auto's, om de buigzaamheid te kunnen zien op het vreselijk lange rechte stuk in Bakoe.

    Dit is puur een aanname van Junaid, een motorsport gek. Geen journalist of insider.
    Voorlopig krijgt alleen een Aston Martin vleugel die stippen heeft Szafnauer gezegd,
    omdat de FIA hem daarom gevraagd heeft.

      Ik mag het waarschijnlijk niet zeggen, maar in het vorige eeuw waren mensen dat zo'n geel plaatje moesten dragen in de oorlog. Nu zie ik dus via de Tweet, dat een Duitser zo'n gele plaatje op zijn auto heeft....

    Volgens mij doet het er niet toe hoeveel ze naar beneden zakken maar of ze wegkantelen of niet. Naar beneden zakken levert niet echt tijdwinst op (tenzij ze helemaal weg zouden zakken achter de achterkant van de auto ;-) wan tde vleugel blokkeert nog steeds de luchtstroom maar wegkantelen zou wel snelheidswinst moeten opleveren (als men geen DRS heeft) op de lange rechten stukken...

      Bekijk hoe zo'n auto werkt, of, een vliegtuig. Dan wellicht, weet je hoe neergaande druk werkt.
